When I make almond milk I always think of what a waste it is to throw away all of the pulp. I came across this raw recipe using either almond pulp or just ground almonds over the weekend and just had to try it. Even for just how pretty they looked!
I got a new lease of life for my food dehydrator this weekend so thought I would try and make them raw, I’m sure they would be just as tasty oven baked on a low temperature too if you don’t have a dehydrator.
Finding healthy foods to please my 18 month old daughter can be tricky at times to say the least. Having strawberry and banana in this recipe just makes them go down a treat with no artificial colours or flavours… Suitable for adults too.
• 1 really ripe banana
• 1 cup of strawberries
• raw coconut nectar or agave (completely optional)
• 1 cup almond pulp or ground almonds
• 1 cup oats
• 1 teaspoon coconut oil
• a few strawberries sliced thinly for the top.
Place the banana, strawberries, coconut nectar and coconut oil in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add the almonds and whizz again until combined. Then stir in the oats. Spread thinly onto non stick sheet on dehydrator tray and score. Place sliced strawberries on top. Take a photo 😉 then put in your dehydrator at around 115 for around 3 hours. Move onto mesh trays and put back in for another few hours. You don’t want these to be too crispy. Once done, refrigerate and serve to little ones with a smile 🙂
